The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is an ambitious law that follows in a long tradition of federal government actions throughout American history to shape markets and promote emerging technologies. New technologies can transform our economy, create jobs and economic growth, enhance our national security, and mitigate the effects of the most complex environmental challenge mankind has ever faced – the climate crisis.
The solar industry plays a critical role in the transition to a clean energy future. Solar energy represents a secure, equitable, and environmentally-responsible alternative to many of the practices and experiences associated with traditional energy generation.
Solar installers are on the front line of the movement, representing the industry to customers and communities. That’s why Green Energy Ohio (GEO) and Solar United Neighbors of Ohio (OH SUN) have created a Code of Ethicsfor the Solar Installersintended to protect the solar industry in Ohio, promote reputable companies, and help ensure that Ohio consumers can have confidence in their installers. The Code puts forth business and professional practices consistent with ethical standards in other states and solar industry organizations.
Ohio solar installers are invited to sign the Pledge to abide by this Code of Ethics.
Our next Book Club will be Thursday, February 1 at 7:00 pm and will examine the element of fire through “The Heat Will Kill You First” by Jeff Goodell. You can find numerous book reviews online and read a review by Michael Benson, GEO Board of Directors member and retired Fire Chief, below.
In addition to increasing GEO’s visibility within the industry, affiliation allows us to learn from the experiences of other affiliates, share best practices in organizational management and development, and discuss policy priorities and challenges.
Just like the weather, Ohio’s energy landscape is always changing. That means Ohio clean energy supporters have more to learn, more to share, and more to do, and the Ohio Energy Conference is the best place to start.
