Green Energy Ohio has traveled around the state for our Annual Awards Ceremony & Reception. We have been hosted by The Ohio State University, Kent State University, Oberlin College, and the University of Dayton. It’s time we went to Southeast Ohio and we are pleased to announce that the event will be held on the campus of Ohio University.

The reception will start at 6:00 pm and will be followed by a program featuring an update on GEO initiatives, introduction of special guests, and remarks from our honorees. We have a stellar group of award recipients this year, as you will see below.

Featured Speaker: Kathiann Kowalski

GEO is pleased to welcome journalist, author, and attorney Kathiann Kowalski as our featured speaker.

Anyone who follows energy issues in Ohio is likely familiar with Kathi and her reporting for the Energy News Network. You can find an archive of her articles on their website. From drilling in state parks to the debate over solar farms to the growth of clean energy manufacturing, Kathi has covered it all with insight and accuracy. Her background provides a firm grasp of the economic, environmental, and political implications of these critical issues. Kathi’s series of reports on the House Bill 6 scandal continues to bring new evidence to light, keeping the trail of corruption front and center. She is the author of 25 books and more than 650 articles. In addition to her journalism career, Kathi is an alumna of Harvard Law School and has spent 15 years practicing law. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Society of Environmental Journalists, and the National Association of Science Writers.
