Green Energy Ohio is proud to announce that we have become a state affiliate of SEIA

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is the national trade association for the U.S. solar industry. Since 1974, SEIA has represented the entire solar sector, from small-business owners to large, publicly-traded companies. SEIA advocates for the protection and expansion of the U.S. solar market and for the transition to an equitable clean energy economy at the federal, state and local levels.

SEIA has formalized partnerships with 21 organizations in 24 states across the country, to coordinate resources and promote the growth of solar markets. All affiliates operate as independent entities, with their own sources of funding and membership, established priorities, and local programming.

In addition to increasing GEO’s visibility within the industry, affiliation allows us to learn from the experiences of other affiliates, share best practices in organizational management and development, and discuss policy priorities and challenges. Affiliates connect through regular online conversations and periodic in-person meetings, and have access to a wide range of policy committees and working groups. GEO will also have greater insight into energy policy making at the federal level, which our supporters believe is important.

Affiliation does not mean that GEO is relinquishing our efforts on behalf of other renewable technologies and energy efficiency practices. We will continue to support projects and policies across the continuum of clean energy as we have done for over two decades. GEO is also broadening our business member community to include sectors critical to a successful transition, including labor, finance, and manufacturing.
